NYU Langone’s Staten Island Community to Clinic Linkage Implementation Program, known as SICLIP, and the Staten Island Borough President’s Office set an ambitious goal: screen 5,000 Staten Islanders for high blood pressure.
SICLIP had already built a strong foundation through its network of community barbershops. To reach more residents faster, the initiative needed to activate a broader group of community organizations and give residents a compelling reason to get screened.
CleanCut Health provided the infrastructure and partnerships to accelerate that work.
HealthFest 2025 became the campaign’s largest community activation, generating more than 1,000 registrations and 960 health screenings in a single day.
CleanCut forged a partnership with NFL Alumni Health to bring Super Bowl Champions and other former NFL players to HealthFest.
The experience was designed around one clear health action: residents had to complete a blood pressure screening on their CleanCut Health Passport before engaging with the NFL Alumni.
This turned the player appearances into more than entertainment. They became a powerful incentive for preventive care.
After completing their blood pressure screening, residents could meet the NFL Alumni, take photos, participate in activities, and hear personal stories about injury, pain, recovery, and long term health.
The players included Roman Oben, Kyle Richardson, Eric Olsen, Jay Alford, and Dominique Easley.
Their presence attracted residents to HealthFest. The Health Passport converted that attention into verified health action.
HealthFest brought SICLIP and the Borough President’s Office together with EmblemHealth, NFL Alumni Health, healthcare providers, and more than 60 community organizations at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park.
Community partners promoted the campaign, registered residents, and connected families with the health activities available at the event.
EmblemHealth Neighborhood Care participated as a healthcare partner, connecting residents with health information, community resources, and continued support.
Residents could access blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings, mental health screenings, CPR demonstrations, concussion education, wellness workshops, and other preventive health services.
By combining community trust, healthcare resources, and a culturally relevant incentive, HealthFest created significant progress toward SICLIP’s 5,000 blood pressure screening goal.
Coordinating more than 60 independent organizations requires shared infrastructure.
Each partner must be onboarded, understand its role, engage residents, deliver assigned activities, and document results.
CleanCut gave the HealthFest coalition one platform to:
• Recruit and onboard participating organizations
• Assign campaign activities and requirements
• Register residents through partner specific pathways
• Guide residents through the Health Passport
• Verify completed health screenings and activities
• Attribute engagement to participating organizations
• Manage campaign incentives and rewards
• Measure results across the campaign
This allowed SICLIP and the Borough President’s Office to expand beyond the organizations they could manage directly while maintaining visibility into participation and completed health actions.
The CleanCut Health Passport connected every part of the resident experience.
Residents registered for the campaign and received a passport outlining the available activities. A blood pressure screening was the required action for accessing the NFL Alumni experience.
Once the screening was completed, it was recorded on the resident’s Health Passport. The resident could then engage with the players and continue participating in other health and wellness activities.
The engagement pathway was simple:
Residents came for the NFL Alumni.
Community organizations helped bring them into the campaign.
Healthcare partners delivered the screenings.
CleanCut documented the health actions and unlocked the experience.
Instead of measuring only registrations or attendance, SICLIP could measure the screenings and preventive activities completed throughout the event.
HealthFest was not the beginning or end of SICLIP’s work. It was an accelerator.
SICLIP and the Borough President’s Office established the 5,000 blood pressure screening goal and built the clinical and community foundation. EmblemHealth and participating healthcare organizations connected residents with resources and support. Community organizations brought trusted relationships.
CleanCut added the infrastructure, expanded the partner network, and created the NFL Alumni Health partnership that helped convert community attention into 960 completed health screenings.
HealthFest demonstrates how an established public health initiative can use CleanCut to activate partners, align incentives with preventive care, and accelerate progress toward a measurable health goal.
